Pricecheck wins Sheffield business award

Mark Lythe and Debbie Harrison have overseen huge growth through exporting since taking over as joint managing directors

Pricecheck has picked up the ‘Outstanding Contribution to Workforce Development’ award at this year’s Sheffield Business Awards for what the judging panel said was the company’s exceptional contribution to the professional growth and development of its workforce and its ongoing commitment to nurturing a supportive learning culture.

The wholesaler has invested heavily in the skills, knowledge, and abilities of its team, which has more than doubled from 150 to 350 over the last five years. Through internal training and funded programmes, the wholesaler has successfully filled skill shortages and generated growth opportunities across the board.

Since 2021, more than 60 new job tiles have been created at the company, with the majority of senior and team managers having progressed from junior positions.

HR manager Claire Elliott said: “It’s a privilege to be presented with such a respected award that recognises the development opportunities we have in place for our employees and the positive environment we have worked so hard to create.”

Joint managing director Debbie Harrison OBE added: “Pricecheck has always been a people-driven company, and this award truly celebrates that. After all, it’s our hard-working and dedicated team who make our culture what it is today.”
