Buying group Sugro has run its first ever virtual networking event as a result of Covid-19 social distancing guidelines set out by the UK government.

Using web real-time communication, the event took place over the 14th and 15 July, with Sugro partnering with a Netherland-based virtual event solution provider.

Sugro mananging director Neil Turton said: “It was a very successful and innovative event to adapt to the times and create liquidity of trading between our suppliers and members, with almost 400 online meetings.”

Head of trading and marketing Yulia Godwin added: “It is fantastic to see that we at Sugro are doing things that have never been done before, successfully. Covid-19 has taught us that providing advanced solutions to help connect and network both Members and Suppliers is crucial to success in a rapidly transforming strategic environment. I must add, Shruti Senapati, Sugro Marketing Co-ordinator did an excellent job at coordinating and executing the virtual event single-handed from start to finish.”
