Sugro welcomes new member to increase buying power

Sugro has strengthened its membership with the recruitment of the Pentagon Food Group, with the buying group’s 88 independent wholesale members now possessing a collective turnover of £1.3bn.

Part of Khan Group of companies, the Stoke-On-Trent based Pentagon Food Group supplies to restaurants, takeaways, chip shops, fast food outlets and franchise owners, serving over 800 businesses in the UK.

Pentagon Food Group leads the distribution and delivered side of the business, whereas a part of the Pentagon Food Group, Freshways, operates under a traditional cash and carry model with two branches based in Hanley in Stoke-on-Trent and Derby.

Hamid Mukhtar Malik of Pentagon said: “These are exciting times at Pentagon Food Group, as we move our business to the next level, we are confident Sugro will provide us the required range, pricing and support to achieve our growth objectives.”
