Steve Jeavons, Purchasing director,    Fairway Foodservice

What was your first-ever job?

I worked for Corona Soft Drinks on the twilight shift. I was 16 years old and worked on the production line packing 1.13l returnable glass bottles.

How would your colleagues at Fairway describe you?

That I am too happy! I am always smiling and sometimes singing, too. I belt out Christmas songs early in the year just to annoy them. I would like to think they would also say I am hard-working and conscientious.

If you could turn any activity into an Olympic sport that would give you a chance of winning a medal, what would it be?

A dancing marathon to disco music. My routine would start with The Twist by the great Chubby Checker. The competition would go on until I was physically removed from the dance floor.

If time and money were not an issue, what hobby would you most like to get into?

I love being outdoors in nice weather and wearing short-sleeve tops, and doing something challenging. With that in mind, I would have to say golf. But I am pretty dreadful at it!

Who would be your four ideal dinner party guests?

Francis Lee, who was the reason I became a Manchester City fan; current City manager, Pep Guardiola, as not only is he one of the cleverest football coaches, he comes across as a real gentleman; actress Olivia Newton-John, because I need to know how she got into those leathers; and Rachel Riley, because I quite like Countdown and she is a Manchester United fan who needs converting!

What would you cook them?

My signature dish is spaghetti Bolognese using all fresh ingredients.

What would your perfect day involve?

I would start the day off with my favourite breakfast: smoked salmon and scrambled egg on a lightly toasted muffin with lemon juice and capers, and a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice.

I would spend time with family and friends before watching Manchester City stuff Manchester United in football’s Champions League final.

Having said that, United won’t reach it, so I will settle for a Premier League game instead!

What’s your song of choice at karaoke?

When I am in full flow, you cannot get me off karaoke, but it can only be Blue Moon to start.

What fad or trend would you like to see make a comeback?

While everyone else was buying a Mars or a KitKat, I was always purchasing a Caramac.

If you were a superhero, what would you choose as your superpower?

Invisibility. I love the idea of disappearing so no one can pester you. It would be more about saving my own sanity rather than the world.

What do you wish you knew more about?

Everything. I still believe I am constantly learning. Something I recently learnt was that if you smile very, very nicely at someone, they will not charge you the full price!
