McCoy’s promotion brings key wholesaler opportunities

McCoy’s has partnered with Sky Sports for a marketing campaign giving customers the chance to win two for one Football League tickets.

The campaign includes depot activity running across 15 London-based cash & carries, including seven Dhamechas.

The campaign was running on McCoy’s Salt & Malt Vinegar, Cheese & Onion and Salted 50g bags but has expanded to the full range, including price-marked packs.

Ending in May, the activity runs alongside KP Snacks’ SnackPartners initiative, which offers wholesalers and retailers category advice and support for driving snack sales.

KP Snacks said sales of singles is declining slightly but still make up 66% of the category, whereas sharing is driving growth with a 26% share of the category.

Andy Staley, business account manager for buying groups at KP Snacks, told Better Wholesaling over the last 12 months KP Snacks has become easier to do business with and has helped wholesalers by changing its case sizes from 48 to 24, which makes the stock more permissible for the retailer to buy.

“McCoy’s Football League gives the retailer a fantastic offer on a core brand within impulse snacking and an opportunity to drive sales in the snacks category,” he added.
