JJ advanced order system achieves £2m in sales

JJ Foodservice’s Advance Order initiative (JJAO) has surpassed £2m in sales, with the initiative allowing customers to order for next day delivery and collection without the need for the wholesaler to physically stock the items

Chief operating officer, Kaan Hendekli said: “By only receiving sold items to the branches, we can achieve 100% product availability. The selection of products includes everything from fresh salmon and scallops to beef fillet steaks, asparagus, and fresh pre-cut, pre-marinated meats, improving the convenience for busy chefs.

Additionally, a sister initiative of JJAO has also enabled smaller branches to more than double their product range.  “It feels like we’re running a completely new business,” said Hamid Ghavamizamir, branch manager for Birmingham. “In addition to premium fresh products, we now have a much broader range of other essentials that were previously unavailable to us. Baskets are increasing, and customers are happier than ever,” he added.

More than 8800 customers use the JJAO service, which is available in Dagenham, Bristol, Leicester, Doncaster, Newcastle, and Aston. 124,050 cases of products have been sold. Currently available in six branches, plans are underway to roll out the service to the remaining branches by the end of the year. JJ expects the initiative to add £5m in yearly sales.
