JJ Foodservice to open Wimbledon depot and eyes further capital expansion

JJ Foodservice is set to open a 33,965 sq ft. depot in Wimbledon in January, creating what will be the company’s 12th branch and more than 50 new jobs. The company has also stated it’s intention to invest in further warehouses in London.

Designed with what the company is calling cutting-edge energy-efficient features, it will possess electric vehicle charging points and PV roof-mounted panels for solar energy. The site has also achieved an ‘excellent’ rating for the Environmental Performance Certificate (EPC) and the Green Building Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM), recognising the building’s exceptional environmental performance and sustainable design.

Kaan Hendekli, chief operating officer of JJ, said, “Wimbledon’s vibrant and diverse community, coupled with its rich cultural heritage, makes it an ideal location for our expansion into London. The area is known for its thriving local businesses, which presents exciting growth opportunities for us and our supplier partners.”

JJ is actively seeking to expand its presence in London and is ready to make future investments.  “We are ready to grow – if you have a freehold site with warehouse space ranging from 20,000 to 50,000 sq ft, we would love to hear from you,” said Kaan.
