Confex promotes David Lunt and Tom Gittins to director roles to help maintain growth trajectory

On the back of solid growth, which sees group turnover now standing at £2.82bn, wholesale buying group Confex is restructuring its resource in an attempt to futureproof the business for its members.

David Lunt and Tom Gittins have been promoted to business development directors for retail and foodservice, respectively.

Recruitment is underway for a digital media assistant, meanwhile, and this assistant will report to Jess Douglas. Douglas replaces Gilly Hunt as marketing manager at the end of 2017, when Hunt will retire following 13 years of service.

Nicky White, Confex managing director, said: “Welcoming 17 new members into the buying group in the first four months of the year has helped push up turnover across the top 20 suppliers by 11.4% YTD.

“As Confex continues to implement a three-year strategy, which will see the group top £3bn in sales by 2020, further recruitment may well be on the cards for our head office, which currently employs 20 people.”
