Cactus water, perfume-inspired cocktails and vegetable-flavoured yoghurts are among the list of in-vogue food products that the UK will supposedly be eating in greater numbers next year, according to Waitrose.
The leading supermarket’s team of experts claim that the trend will be for veering between eating healthy food, such as Hawaiian poke bowls, and indulging in giant calorific desserts.
In fact, Hawaiian poke bowls could become as popular as sushi, they claim.
Watermelon water is also tipped to become big in 2017, thanks to celebrity endorsements and an agreeable taste.
Sales of gourmet meal kits are also forecast to pick up, while an increasing number of people will treat themselves to giant desserts more often.
