Brakes virtual event returns

Brakes Summer event

Brakes Virtual Food Event returns this summer with support and advice for caterers. The event is open to all, launching on June 7 as a part of Brakes ‘Help for Hospitality’ campaign.

The event focuses on menu ideas, new food, and market knowledge. There will also be a number of webinars covering important industry topics such as Natasha’s Law, food waste reduction measures, and key trends.

Caterers can also gain insight into how operators may use social media to advertise takeout options, increase footfall, and expand their customer base.

Other features of the event include downloadable content, over 40 information stands, as well as 900 products from Brakes and other businesses.

New additions to Brakes Virtual Food Event include the ‘Brakes Event Village’ which features sector-specific stands to provide easy navigation for visitors. Brakes have also included personalised homepages for visitors via mobile, tablet and desktop.

Brakes’ latest innovation Virtual Chef Online will be displayed for the first time at the event.

Virtual Chef Online is a set of recipe and menu management tools that help foodservice operators optimise every aspect of their recipe development process, including nutrition, allergens, and cost per serving/per batch. It also calculates the RRP for a dish based on the desired profit margin and tax rate.

Virtual Chef Online is powered by real product and price data from Brakes’ range of over 12,000 goods. It was created in collaboration with Nutritics, which specialises in the creation of nutritional software for healthcare, education, foodservice, food processing, and elite sport.

Brakes’ customer marketing director Leon French said “The reaction to our first two Virtual Food Events has been phenomenal and many of the new features that appear in this latest one are inspired by comments and feedback from visitors to those,”

Existing Brakes customers will receive an email invitation advising how to access the event, however, non-customers can access the event via Brakes’ website.
