Today’s Group has produced a soft drinks merchandising guide to help independent retailers to capitalise on the £1.9bn soft drinks category.
The guide offers core ranging and seasonal advice together with planograms designed to help retailers grow sales and profits. It is the first category-focused guide from Today’s Plan for Profit – the range guide designed specifically for independent retailers – and has been produced with the help of Britvic Soft Drinks and other major soft drink suppliers.
Soft drinks is the largest FMCG category worth more than £7.5bn a year. In impulse, the category is worth £1.9bn and growing at +7%. Trading controller at Today’s Mark Bottomley said: “Soft drinks is the fastest-growing category in impulse. It is therefore crucial that retailers stock and promote the right products. With this new guide, we are helping retailers to merchandise and present their stores to the highest professional standard.”
Today’s Group will be distributing 20,000 guides through member wholesaler depots as well as through the Today’s retail club. The group has confirmed that this is the first of a number of guides that will be launched to offer retailers core-ranging advice across key categories.
