Three-year coffee chain deal for Blakemore

Blakemore will now be supplying coffee chain Soho Coffee Co. after finalising a three year contract that will generate £2.5 million in additional sales for the foodservice arm of the wholesaler.

The independent food-led chain has 34 coffee shops across the UK and Ireland, with Blakemore, who recently joined the Country Range Group,  set to deliver to the central production kitchen in Cheltenham six days a week. It will also now be introducing around 300 new product lines to service this contract.

Soho Coffee Co. head of centralised operations Duncan Reilly, said: “We are delighted to be embarking on this new partnership with Blakemore Foodservice. Blakemore are easy to deal with and nothing is too much trouble. Their service is second to none. We have benefited from a vast product range as well as their willingness to list bespoke suppliers where needed.”

Blakemore Foodservice sales director Nick Rose added: “We are delighted to be supplying and working with Soho Coffee Co. Both of our companies have the same overarching values guiding how we work and we see this as a perfect partnership. We are looking to grow into new sectors of the foodservice market, and coffee shops is one of those areas. There will also be synergies and learnings we can share with A.F. Blakemore’s Philpotts prepared-food stores, which are serviced by Blakemore Foodservice too.”

Blakemore recently announced that sales from continuing operations rose by 4.6% to £1.1bn for the year ending 30 April, while pre-tax profit from continuing operations rose by 19.5% from £8.5m to £10.2m in the same period.
