Palmer & Harvey’s foodservice arm keeps it simple

Huw Davies, MD of Palmer & Harvey’s new food service arm P&H Direct, is predicting the company will more than hold its own against established food service groups like Brakes and 3663.

The operation, which is built around Palmer & Harvey’s acquisition of Walkers Van Sales business, will initially be serving 23,000 customers – focusing primarily on crisps, snacks and nuts.

Davies told Better Wholesaling: “For us it’s pretty simple – it’s about regular, reliable service with no requirement to pre-order. It’s a van sales service offering national coverage. We offer service direct to the customer at least once a fortnight without them having to do telephone or web ordering.”

The full interview will feature in the June edition of Better Wholesaling.
