Booker increases delivered range at Fareham depot

Booker has boosted the range for delivered customers serviced by its new Fareham retail distribution centre by 35%.

The firm said the site would increase capacity and “for the first time create the opportunity for shared delivered network allowing Premier, Londis, Budgens, Shop Local and national account customers to be delivered from a shared delivered hub.”

Booker added the changes at the distribution centre were based on market insight and customer feedback, allowing customers to take advantage of “new market trends.”

As part of the change, more than 100 products have been added, offering retailers more pack sizes and customers products of differing quality from ‘good, better and best.’ It has also removed duplication across some product categories such as tuna and ales to help customers “maximise sales.”

Booker (Retail) managing director Colm Johnson said: “Firstly, I would like to thank all our customers for their continued support, the changes we are making will only benefit the customers as well as the shoppers.

“We will always ensure as a business, we continue to improve choice, price, and service for many years to come. The ranges we have, offer customers breath as well as quality allowing them to grow as a business and gain sales on leading market trends.”

The change at Fareham comes as Booker has recently undertaken a major range review to remove “bloated” retail lines across its depots.
