Blakemore gets painting to support charity

Volunteers from AF Blakemore & Son Ltd’s HR team picked up their paintbrushes and transformed an outdoor play area at a Wolverhampton women’s refuge.

A total of 13 employee volunteers worked together over two days in icy temperatures to regenerate an outdoor children’s play area at The Haven Women’s Refuge in Wolverhampton.

The team worked hard to clear the garden area, paint benches, walls and brighten up the children’s play equipment.

Rob Liddle, A.F. Blakemore’s Health & Safety Manager, said: “I’d like to say a big thank you to the HR team for supporting this project. Everyone worked extremely well together despite the freezing temperatures and it was a great opportunity to get to know the team better.”

The Haven Wolverhampton is an independent charity which supports women and children affected by domestic violence, homelessness and abuse.
