TWG begins major own brand roll out with juices launch

The Wholesale Group has launched a juice range under its new Core own-label brand, with the introduction signalling the start of a broader own-brand rollout.

Core Juices will be exclusively available to the buying group’s membership and have been launched in Orange, Apple and Cranberry flavurs packed in 1-litre slimline Tetra cartons, with an ambient 8–9 month shelf life.

Richard Ellison, own brand manager at The Wholesale Group, said: “Core Juices represents the next step in how we are evolving our own-label strategy. As a leading buying group, our focus is on developing ranges that give members confidence – products that are easy to stock, easy to sell and relevant across both retail and foodservice. Core has been built around those principles.”

Speaking at the buying group’s Senior Supplier Briefing, the management team gave an insight into the company’s growth accelerators and strategy for the year ahead, with retail managing director Tom Gittins calling independent wholesale “the fastest growing sector in the market, with discounters racing to the bottom and the supermarket saturated.”
