Savona announces sustainability partnership

Savona Foodservice is now collaborating with environmental services provider ClimatePartner in order to measure its corporate carbon footprint across all its locations.

The foodservice wholesaler claims this will begin its journey towards a target of being carbon neutral by 2025 and will allow it to understand where its carbon hotspots are, so that it can set an impactful reduction plan.

Group marketing manager Jenny Squire said: “Climate change is an ever-increasing, urgent issue. Whilst we have already started to make positive change, including the implementation of electric vehicles and eradicating single-use plastics from our range, we are excited to be taking our first steps towards measuring our carbon footprint to further benefit our planet.”

Elsewhere at the business, in a recent interview with Better Wholesaling, Savna explained that two years ago, it also embarked upon a strategic programme of system replacements that will provide the latest in technology solutions, enabling a radical improvement to their customer proposition and experience.
