Parfetts holds its largest-ever trade show

Parfetts has just finished its trade show at the Centenary Pavilion, Elland Road, the home of Leeds United FC – the largest location for the trade show yet.

Held every two years, the Parfetts Trade Show is one of the biggest and most successful in the industry, and this year was no exception. Over 100 major suppliers were represented including Coca-Cola, Unilever, McVitie’s, Carlsberg, JTI and Nestle with more retailers and more deals done on the day than ever before, making it the most successful show to date.

Over 1000 of Parfetts’ top retailers and registered customers visited the event for a day packed full of fantastic deals, free samples and great prizes. All attendees were given a deal book on entry to the show with which they could snap up a range of one-off deals that will be available for collection from their local Parfetts depot in the coming days.

According to Parfetts Managing Director, David Grimes, there are as many networking opportunities at the trade show as there are exclusive one-off offers, “This event is a great opportunity for our suppliers, partners and customers to all get together. This has been our biggest and busiest show ever – retailers are buying stock by pallets and cases as they take advantage of these exclusive trade show deals.”

Dave Cutler of McVitie’s commented: “I am impressed with the number of suppliers but more importantly with the excellent turnout from customers. This is a great opportunity to discuss future opportunities in the biscuit category and reward Go Local retailers with some really exciting promotional activity.”

Colin McAlpine of Coca-Cola was also complimentary and said, “It is good to see so many retailers here today and to be able to invite them in and do business. We are looking forward to progressing our relationships with them. It was also a great dinner at the awards last night and great to see the fantastic progress of Go Local.”

Parfetts Trading Director, Greg Suszczenia, opened the show and briefed the exhibiting suppliers on the way the Deal Book system works. Every deal at the show is pre-printed in a deal book that is negotiated, agreed and signed by both parties. At the end of the show the deal book is handed back to Parfetts for picking and later collection by the retailer. He said, “Retailers can review all the deals available on the day in the book and choose which deals they want to do with which suppliers. Many of the offers today are free stock deals where you buy X and get Y free.”

Greg concluded: “This unique show is a not just a place for suppliers to display their branding, it is the place to do business, where suppliers take orders, where retailers get a great deal and where everyone gets to know each other personally and this benefits the entire industry. The Parfetts trade show will be back in 2016.”
