Philip Morris Limited (PML) has appointed Peter Nixon as its new managing director, replacing Christian Woolfenden.
Nixon will oversee all aspects of PML’s business operations, with a focus on accelerating growth of its multi-category portfolio of smoke-free products.

He has worked for Philip Morris International (PMI) for more than 20 years in a variety of roles in different countries including Japan, Russia and Switzerland. He previously served as PML managing director from 2016 to 2021, overseeing the launch of Iqos heated tobacco in the UK.
Commenting on his appointment, Nixon said: “It’s great to be back at PML, especially at such a pivotal time for the company and the industry. I am committed to delivering a business that enables the six million adults who smoke to switch from cigarettes to better alternatives.”
Woolfenden, who succeeded Nixon after his first stint in the role, has left the business.
