Jambo Supplies joins Sugro as buying group increases e-commerce offering

Jambo Supplies has joined Sugro and added £26m to the group’s existing buying power of more than £2.5bn.

Based in Buckinghamshire, Jambo supplies organic and branded non-food products to cash & carries as well as delivered wholesalers. Its director. Meghnaben Patel said: “We are excited to become a part of Sugro UK and to collaborate with like-minded companies who share our dedication to excellence. This membership opens up a world of possibilities for us, enabling us to leverage collective expertise and resources to drive growth and deliver even greater value to our customers.”

Meanwhile, Sugro has continued its investment into data insights with Sugro Insight Service following the introduction of a new customer split functionality in partnership with b2b.store.

The buying group says it has recognised the importance of suppliers being able to track the journey their products take on their route to market and understands that providing wholesale sales data alone may not fully meet the needs of data-focused suppliers. As such Sugro members have collaborated with Central Office to categorise core customer types within its cost sector, hospitality, and retail, offering detailed insights.

By identifying nine distinct customer types including retail outlets, forecourts, On Trade establishments, and Café/QSR businesses, Sugro Insight Service will enable suppliers to delve into category and product performance specific to each customer segment.

Yulia Petitt, head of commercial & narketing at Sugro UK, said: “We are thrilled to share this news of the enhancements we have made to the Sugro Insight Service since its introduction back in October last year. As the platform progresses, we are confident that the value of the data provided to our members and suppliers will only grow stronger.”
