The guide aims to help those in the care sector support residents living with dementia with advice, tips, and recipes. Recipes include easy to eat finger foods such as kipper Scotch eggs, blueberry and brie tarts and vegan cupcakes.
Discussing the guide, head of customer marketing at Bidfood, Gemma Benford, said: “Our amazing healthcare customers support a wide range of people across the country living with dementia on a daily basis.
“As part of this, we know how important it is to feed residents nutritious, tasty and easy on-the-go meals to suit their lifestyle needs, but also well-loved comfort food or nostalgic meals that feel familiar.
Benfordm added: “This is why, we wanted to show our support for World Alzheimer’s month, so thought it would be the perfect time to create a set of useful tools, tips and recipes to better support our customers on their mission to look after the UK’s residents living with the disease.”
Bidfood has also started a podcast in collaboration with a customer, Hospitality Manager at Hallmark Care Homes, Rob Byrom. The podcast provides case studies, insights, and best practices to support the industry while providing the best care for those with dementia.
Customers can find more information on dementia through Caterers Campus, an online learning module offered by the wholeser.
