Bestway partners with payment app firm

Bestway is to partner with payment app service Jisp to provide its franchise and symbol partners the opportunity to offer their customers home delivery and click & collect services.

Use of the Jisp app is currently being trialled within the Bestway estate, and is expected to be made available to all Bestway’s partners in 2021 free of charge. It will enable retailers to further understand customer insights and tailor products and services for their individual needs.

Bestway managing director, Dawood Pervez said: “There is huge opportunity for UK convenience retailers. Research undertaken in May shows that during the first lockdown, over 26% of the UK population used c-stores for home delivery or click & collect.  Furthermore, 57% of retailers have launched home delivery services in one form or another, since the pandemic took hold.

“And we know that it is difficult for retailers to compete with the multiples in terms of the investment they are able to put into technology platforms.  Whilst it is certainly possible for a retailer to develop their own platform – or consider working with a third-party delivery company, there are important considerations especially around where ownership of the information and data, may lie.
