The Wholesale Group has seen the buying group’s value grow by 2.47% and volume increase by 2.13% since the company was formed in January following the merger of Confex and Fairway Foodservice.
The year-to-date figures were revealed by joint managing director Tom Gittins: “At our launch, we announced that The Wholesale Group was the buying group the sector needs, and we are delighted to provide an efficient, powerful route to market for suppliers, while celebrating and championing the incredible family businesses that make up our membership.”

The figures were announced at the group’s first ever Charity Golf Day, with the buying group also hosting its Foodservice Fair in Stratford upon Avon on 11 September 2025. Its annual conference will be held in Tenerife on 9-12 October 2025.
Back in May, the group launched a foodservice range that comprises more than 300 products, includes products from both Confex and Fairway Foodservice’s previous ranges that will be available exclusively to the buying group’s members.
Consisting of two sub-brands, CHEF Prestige (premium ingredients) and CHEF Hygiene (cleaning and hygiene solutions), the range will be supported by a product development plan for 2025 and beyond to ensure the range reflects upcoming trends and remains relevant and fresh.
