Sterling Supergroup delivered its Sterling Connect event last week and introduced an format within the group’s wider programme by providing a focused setting across an evening dinner and a full day of meetings between members and suppliers.
This came as Sterling enters its 60th year, with Daniel Larkin, chief commercial officer at Sterling Supergroup, said: “Sterling Connect was introduced to add another option to how we support engagement between members and suppliers. Alongside our larger events, the one-to-one format created space for discussion, and the feedback suggests it delivered real value for those conversations.”

One member commented: “From a business point of view, the format made it a very effective use of time. Being able to meet a wide range of suppliers in one day meant we could have conversations we might not otherwise have had, and we found real value across the meetings.”
Nigel Chadd recently became the new chairman of the Sterling Supergroup following the announcement at the buying group’s 59th annual conference that John Whitechurch OBE of J&R Foodservice would be stepping down.
