Brindisa Spanish Foods has appointed two regional account managers to newly created positions in Scotland and the North of England.

The speciality foods wholesaler is looking to expand from its current operations in the South, where, historically, the majority of its sales have stemmed from.

Monika Linton, chairman and product director at Brindisa, said: “We’re thrilled to welcome Gayle Swan and Joe Whittick to the team. They both bring drive, passion and a wealth of experience to the business. We’ve been advocating Spanish food in the South East of the UK for the past three decades, so it’s an exciting step to able to expand the business further through dedicated regional managers.”

“I’ve been a serious foodie for a long time so I’m very excited to join the team at Brindisa for the next step in my career,” said Swan, who will be in charge of Scotland. “There is huge demand for a quality food offering and I’m really looking forward to introducing Brindisa’s extensive range of Spanish foods to retailers and foodservice operators across Scotland.”

North Of England account manager Whittick added: “I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to develop my career with such a great company – Brindisa is already a fairly recognised name in the North, despite not being widely available yet! I know from my dealings with Brindisa, as a deli owner, that there is an appetite within the retail and foodservice sectors for more diverse and premium offerings which tap into consumer trends and I hope that my role in the business will enable more operators to capitalise on the opportunity Spanish produce provides.”
