Bestway has announced a restructure, combining its off-license and convenience retail businesses.

The restructure will merge the off-license team responsible for the Bargain Booze and Wine Rack brands with its convenience division responsible for the Best-one and Costcutter brands. The new team will be managed under Bestway Retail.

Costcutter retail director Mike Hollis will operate under the same title with Bestway and he will lead a new retail division. The division will consist of head of symbol fascia Paul Adams, head of franchise Duncan Jelfs, head of corporate stores Clive Binks, head of central operations Frankie Haynes and head of store recruitment and development Jamie Davison.

Bestway trading director Kenton Burchell will also see his role changed to group trading director. Bestway’s buying and marketing teams for cash and carry, convenience and off license will also be managed centrally.

Bestway managing director Dawood Pervez said: “We have extraordinary talent within our business and the time is right to make changes as an important step in delivering future growth and ensuring we continue to meet the needs of our customers as behaviours change and opportunities grow.

“We are now bringing together our off licence led business in Crewe (including our Bargain Booze and Wine Rack Brands) and convenience-led business in York (including our Costcutter and sub- brands Mace, Kwiksave, Simply Fresh, Supershop brands) and Best-one convenience, as one team within Bestway Retail.

“Importantly, we will continue to operate out of both sites, which will each become a centre of excellence for off-licence and convenience respectfully. Our new structure will optimise our ways of working within the Bestway teams, with our customers and our supplier partners.”
