Parfetts is expanding its delivered service and symbol group into Scotland for the first time, with the wholesaler opening its first store under the Go Local Extra banner in the country in partnership with retail group SR Freshway last week.
Based on Lockerbie high street in Dumfries and Galloway, the new site includes unique features such as a soft-play area for children as well as a seating area for customers to enjoy hot drinks in the store.
Parfetts joint managing director Guy Swindell told our sister website Better Retailing that, alongside the new symbol store, the company also plans to expand its delivered service further throughout Scotland.

He added: “Raj and Ravi’s new Go Local Extra, the first in Scotland, features LED panel lighting, a dedicated beer cave and an in-store bakery, plus a kids’ play area that is being welcomed by the local community.
“As a national wholesaler, Parfetts is uniquely positioned to support retailers across the UK with great value, excellent service and a strong promotional calendar. Our Middlesbrough depot team will be working closely with retailers in Scotland to offer access to our delivered service, providing cash-and-carry prices with free delivery. Combined with our online ordering system, our next-day delivery option gives retailers the flexibility and stock availability they need, exactly when they need it.”
The new store comes as the wholesaler already distributes its Go Local own-label range in Scotland through a partnership with wholesaler JW Filshill.
