Parfetts appoints general manager

Jason Longstaff has been appointed as the new general manager at Parfetts’ Halifax depot.

Recently serving in a similar role at Bestway Huddersfield, Longstaff will lead the team to drive the recruitment of retailers across the region.

Jason Barnard, head of operations (East) at Parfetts, said: “Jason is hugely experienced in wholesale and understands the requirements of the local area. I’m confident that our Halifax operations will thrive with his leadership. There is a great team there, and Jason will help take it to the next level.”

Longstaff added: “I’d heard a lot about Parfetts before I joined the business. It’s clear that employee ownership makes a big difference to the culture of the organisation and the flexibility it has to support retailers. I have a committed team here, and I look forward to working with them to take this operation forward.”

Parfetts recently set its sights on expanding its network across the UK, with the wholesaler fast forwarding its growth plans over the past 18 months.

“We already had the frameworks in place to grow, but Covid-19 and the resulting lockdown has accelerated those plans. We’ve now expanded in the digital and delivered spaces and improved our cash and carry capabilities,” explained joint managing director Guy Swindell.
