JW Filshill is ramping up its presence in the north of England with the appointment of former Palmer & Harvey (P&H) sales manager.
Jeanette Gordon joins the Glasgow-based delivered wholesaler as business development manager, following a 17-year stint with P&H, latterly as regional sales manager (north).
Gordon, based in Selby, North Yorkshire, will report directly to Craig Brown, retail sales director.
Filshill, which operates the KeyStore retail fascia, sees the north of England as a key strand of its long-term strategy to grow the KeyStore brand.
Brown said: “We see significant potential to grow our business in the north of England. Jeanette is an experienced operator who knows the retail sector inside out and has an outstanding track record focused around customer service – her strong knowledge of the retail sector in that part of the country will also be crucial in helping us achieve our goals.
“This is a key appointment for Filshill at a time when independent retailers, more than ever, need a point of difference in an evolving and competitive convenience marketplace. Jeanette is very much in tune with recent changes in our industry and is therefore ideally placed to work in partnership with retailers to stimulate growth and maximise profit.”
