Bestway has added more than 1,500 new products to its convenience range with the wholesaler basing the new SKUS on customer feedback, adding that it will continue to list regional lines to cater for local demand.

Bestway Wholesale managing director Dawood Pervez said: “We’ve listened to our customers – and we’ve responded. We are enormously excited to be announcing this expansion of our retail and convenience range across our depot network as we know it’s exactly what our customers are looking for – a broader range giving greater choice with a more diverse and pertinent line up of products.

“By increasing our range, we aim to be a one-stop shopping destination for our retail customers offering them a wide variety of products across different categories. At a time when they need it the most.”

In February, Bestway competitor Booker’s commercial director Sheila Gallagher revealed that the wholesaler had undertaken a major review across depots to provide stores with more focused ranges, alongside more fresh. While some retailers welcomed the decision, others criticised Booker, claiming the firm had expanded catering at the expense of retail in some depots.

Pervez added Bestway has also been reviewing its Best-one own label range, with an announcement on the update to be made soon. The wholesaler has also improved online support for retailers, making it easier for them to view a depot’s full range while adding a new planogram service.

Kenton Burchell, group trading director at Bestway Wholesale, said: “The essence of convenience retail lies in accessibility. By adding more ranges within our depots not only gives our customers more options to choose from but it also means that they don’t need to shop anywhere else and can get everything they need under one roof, enhancing their overall shopping experience.”
