Award-winning Indian whiskey Indri available to wholesale channel

Indian whiskey maker Indri has revealed plans to enter in the UK convenience and foodservice wholesale channels, with the company also introducing a new rum to its collection of whiskeys.

Manufactured by Piccadilly Distilleries of Haryana state in northern India, the business has highlighted the UK market as carrying huge importance to the brand due to its cultural significance to whiskey, as well as London being a ‘gateway to the rest of the world.’

The brand’s limited edition Diwalai collector’s edition recently celebrated winning ‘Best in Show, Double Gold’ at the Whiskies of the World Awards 2023 and founder Siddhartha Sharma, said, “It is an exciting time for India, and Indian whiskies are not far behind as we are playing our part in the India story. Indri’s big win at Whiskies of the World awards- being rated as the Best whisky in the world, further strengthens our vision of putting homegrown quality liquids on the world map. It is an honour to be recognised and celebrated by such a renowned platform, outshining hundreds of whiskies from across the globe.”

Meanwhile, the company’s new Kamikara rum is claimed to be India’s first pure can juice rum and has been matured for 12 years in American oak casks. The rum has been bottled without added colour or sugar, and now available to the wholesale channel.
