David Grimes, managing director, said they are delighted with the figures and that the success is down to the hard work of their employees.

Last year Parfetts celebrated 10 years of trading from their Sheffield depot and the completion of a modernisation programme across all six depots.

Despite their success, Grimes said there are still plenty of challenges still ahead. “The markets in which we operate remain highly competitive and duty fraud is still a major problem. The number of convenience stores opened by the multiples continues to increase and the impact on our retail customers is huge,” he added.

Parfetts is focussing on the catering sector this year, as well as using technology and e-commerce more to grow the business further.

“Click & Collect is a growth area for our business and we have invested heavily in upgrading depot wi-fi coverage and depot technology to facilitate picking of orders using RF units,” said Grimes.
