Pricecheck has been named as a Northern Powerhouse Export Champion for 2019 by the Department for International Trade.

The Sheffield-based wholesaler and distributor now operate in more than 80 countries, with its exports growing significantly in recent years.

In six years, Pricecheck’s exports have increased from £8.8m in 2012 to £32.3m in 2018, with this area now accounting for almost half of total turnover.

Pricecheck’s joint managing director Debbie Harrison said: “Our exporting success is down to the hard work of the team. Exporting is more challenging than trading domestically, but for the extra effort, businesses focused on export can reap significant rewards. Our sales team attend international trade shows and engage in overseas visits to build relationships with our customers, offering an excellent bespoke customer service along with competitive pricing.”

“We’ve exhibited at a major trade fair in Cologne this week, we’re at Cosmoprof in Bologna, Italy, next week and we’ve got a team visiting the ASD Market Week Show in Las Vegas later in March. Exports now account for more than 45% of total turnover, which is in excess of £80m, so we’re thrilled to have received this accolade and look forward to sharing our knowledge,” she added.
