Gittins takes the helm at Confex after White steps down

Tom Gittins has become the new managing director of Confex with immediate effect, following the news that Nicky White has stepped down after 25 years in the position.

Appointed director last year, Gittins will now take over a buying group with more than 240 members across the UK as it enters its 48thyear.

“I thank the Confex board for giving me this opportunity and look forward to leading Confex into the next phase of our evolution,” said Gittins. “These are exciting times for the wholesale industry and with our dynamic, forward-thinking members and dedicated head office team, we are well placed to capitalise on the rapidly changing marketplace.”

Chairman Martin Williams added: “Confex continues to grow and evolve with their members becoming the focal point of the business. I have been delighted to work with them this year and look forward to working with Tom and the family to further grow and develop the business for both next year and future years.”

“After 25 years, I’m happy to hand over the reins to Tom and the brilliant team we now in place have at Confex,” said Nicky. “I’m also looking forward to spending more time with my grandchildren.”
