Dhamecha Group has opened its ninth cash & carry – and its second in the Midlands – in Birmingham.

Dhamecha, London’s largest independent cash and carry group and a member of the Today’s Group, has taken on 60 new members of staff for the site in the UK’s so-called second city.

Dhamecha chief executive, Pradip Dhamecha, said: “Following the success of the Leicester branch, we are delighted to be expanding our Midlands base into Birmingham and to be employing 60 staff in the area.

“Our team joined us over two months ago, and they have spent the last few weeks being trained in the Leicester branch, ready for the opening of Birmingham. The general manager of our Leicester branch, Richard Elphick, will become the new general manager in Birmingham, and his position will be filled by Siddarth Jani, who has been with the Dhamecha Group for almost 10 years.

“We look forward to developing close relationships with the retailers and caterers in the Birmingham area”
