WDS plans expansion into new premises to offer wider range

WDS, previously Direct Drinks, is expanding to new premises in Bury, Lancashire, allowing it to offer a wider product range to businesses in the North West of England and West Yorkshire.

The new facilities on Peel Mills Industrial Estate will allow the team of 16 to grow, and its ranges to increase, too. Changes to the website also mean customers can order direct at a time which suits them with free local delivery.

Since WDS began trading in 2010, product range has grown from just drinks to include catering supplies, snacks, confectionery and alcoholic drinks, as well as soft drinks.

Ryan Smith, MD at WDS, said: “2016 saw an amazing change in the business, and we have worked hard as a team to enhance our service and product offering. I think this is something that spurred on our investment in the ordering enhancements to the site, the increase in warehouse facility, and even the name change – so far, it’s working.”

As WDS owns Beer Hunter, an online beer matching service, the new premises will feature a mock bar, from which potential and current customers can come and sample the product range.

Smith added: “We hope the mock bar and special events will bring the local community together, giving business owners and beer drinkers a chance to sample products whilst meeting other like-minded people.”
