Unitas brings in commercial director and confirms Premier Exports arrival

Kirsty Cooper has been appointed Unitas’ new commercial director, replacing the outgoing Aoife Kenny next month, who will also be stepping down from the company’s board.

The buying group has also expanded its member development management team with the hires of Stephen Cheetham as member development controller and Mitesh Dhokia as member development manager.

Cooper will be joining the executive team from Acosta Europe and prior to this has held senior roles at Capri-Sun, Britvic, CCEP, Red Bull, Greene King and Ramsden International.

John Kinney Unitas managing director stated: “I am delighted that Kirsty has accepted the offer to be our commercial director, I am really looking forward to working with Kirsty at this exciting time for Unitas. We have ambitious plans for Unitas and Kirsty will be instrumental in helping to deliver on these.”

Cooper commented: “I am looking forward to joining the team at Unitas, this is a great business with some of the UK’s biggest and best wholesalers and I can’t wait to support them to deliver their strategic objectives.”

Elsewhere at Unitas, Bedfordshire-based Premier Exports London has now left Sugro and joined its ranks. This follows Kinney exclusively revealing the news to Better Wholesaling in March at the company’s trade show.

Established in 2010, Premier Exports is a delivered wholesaler that supplies more than 550 international customers primarily with grocery, confectionery and ambient products. The business operates from one 23,000sq ft depot and had a turnover of £47m in the past financial year.
