UK Foodservice market generated £100bn last year, report shows

The UK’s foodservice sector generated £100.4bn ($129.3bn) in 2025, recording a growth rate of 19.2% over 2020–25.

According to a new report from Global Data, transaction volumes also increased, with a growth of 9.8% during the same period, reflecting higher consumer spending and a recovery in dining-out occasions.

Pub, club & bar was the leading channel in 2025, accounting for 28.5% of total sector sales, supported by its strong role in social occasions.

QSR ranked as the second-largest channel, contributing 22.1% of the market, driven by demand for convenience and budget-friendly meals.

Looking ahead, the report titled ‘United Kingdom: The Future of Foodservice to 2030’ explains that the market is expected to grow at a more moderate pace, with revenue forecast to register a CAGR of 3.3% over 2025–30, while transactions and outlet growth remain steady.
