Molson Coors Beverage Company is expanding the Carling portfolio with the launch of Carling Black Label, a new beer that nods to the brand’s heritage.

Carling Black Label will be available in the off-trade from 16 March nationwide in 4x568ml, 4x568ml and 10x440ml pack formats. Its name is a reference to how Carling was originally known in the UK until 1997, but it is a distinctive line compared to the original variety.

The supplier says the 4.7% ABV lager will give shoppers the opportunity to trade up to a more premium option with the assurance of a trusted brand. It is made with 100% British barley and brewed in Burton upon Trent.

Kevin Fawell, UK sales director at Molson Coors Beverage Company, said: “Carling Black Label is a full-flavoured lager designed for today’s beer market, and we’re confident it will resonate with both those who remember the name and those discovering it for the first time.

“To be able to expand the Carling offering for our customers is a really exciting opportunity for us to reach new and existing Carling drinkers.”

Molson Coors will support the launch with a consumer marketing across social media and influencer engagement.
