Food hygiene ratings help for takeaways from FOODit

Food hygiene ratings

Restaurant website and app builder FOODit has announced extra support for takeaways to improve their food hygiene ratings.

The new feature of the JJ Foodservice company’s app offers quick access to the Food Standards Agency (FSA)’s guidelines. Head of product Paul Sharp says this will give takeaways the support they need ahead of an expected change in the law that will make it compulsory for food outlets in all the UK to display their ratings.

Sharp added: “Having a good food hygiene rating is critical to customers – 68% of consumers look at ratings when deciding where to eat.”

Display of ratings is currently only mandatory in Wales and Northern Ireland.
