JW Filshill is offering retailers advice on the upcoming vape ban through an AI chat bot that is said to reply instantly to any questions.

The AI bot called ‘Vapora’ allows any retailer across the country to ask a question by sending an email to vape.questions@filshill.co.uk and it comes with the answer straight away. It also enables retailers to request a list of compliant products as well as how to safely dispose all non-compliant stock.

In recent weeks, Filshill has issued a guide – compiled by Derek Cowan, its category manager responsible for the tobacco and vape categories – to its customers in PDF format. The wholesaler’s business development managers have also been working closely with KeyStore retailers to advise them on how to prepare for the forthcoming legislation’s implementation.

Filshill’s chief executive officer Simon Hannah – a qualified AI trainer said: “Our guide to the single-use vapes ban has been exceptionally well received by our customers, thanks to the fact that Derek has compiled the information in a format that easy to read and understand.

“As a result of this positive response to our market-leading guide we have decided to use an innovative AI approach to make it available to all retailers – regardless of the trading groups to which they are affiliated – to help the wider convenience sector,” he added.
