DCS invests in manufacturing facility

DCS Group has announced a major UK expansion by investing in a 90,000 sq ft purpose designed manufacturing facility in Redditch, Worcestershire.

Scheduled to be working at full capacity by the beginning of October, the new site will complement the existing DCS Group sales, distribution and re-packing services at its Banbury facility and will provide the business with additional supply-chain capacity in order to support its targeted growth plans.

Denys C Shortt argues that wholesalers need to adapt to survive

Michael Lorimer, DCS Group chief executive  said: “Finding the right site so we could retain our brilliant team was the top priority. The move to the new facility in Redditch will strengthen our reputation as a leading UK manufacturer and distributor, enabling us to continue to provide excellent service to our branded suppliers and customers and ensure the long-term sustainability of our business.

“This is a really exciting development for DCS and reflects the confidence we have to grow in the market. Our manufacturing division was born out of DCS sales and distribution over ten years ago and like the rest of the group it has grown every year. We now employ over one hundred people on the design, manufacturing and distribution of both our Enliven own label brand and other well-known branded personal care products for the UK retail market,” he added.

The new factory in Redditch has increased the existing warehousing capacity by 50% with an additional ten jobs to be created. The company’s headquarters will remain in Banbury, Oxfordshire.
