Channel islands wholesaler Cimandis has made the decision to cease trading in Jersey from the end of July following what the wholesaler calls a ‘period of increasingly challenging trading conditions, including significant increases in rent and shipping costs.’
A company statement said the decision has not been taken lightly and despite diligent efforts, the economic environment has rendered ongoing operations in Jersey unsustainable. However, the Bidcorp-owned company will continue to operate in Guernsey, Herm and Sark.

“Our foremost priority now is to support our incredibly dedicated team throughout this difficult process. We are actively engaging with other foodservice companies in Jersey to assist in aligning our staff with new opportunities as much as we can,” the statement said.
“In the forthcoming weeks, we will initiate clearance sales to reduce stock levels. This presents an opportunity for our Jersey-based customers to acquire essential products and maintain their menus during the busy summer season.”
