NBC has reported continuous growth throughout the business at its AGM, with the buying group welcoming 11 members and revenue growing by 25% over the past year. Managing director David Lunt also explained that its core categories – soft drinks, snacks, confectionery – are averaging over 30% increases.

“I am pleased to report another period of significant growth and development for the group. For this we are thankful for the support and cooperation of our supplier partners, without whom we would not have been as successful as we have been along our journey,” he said.

David Longfellow of Leeds-based wholesaler JL Brooks is set to take over as chairman in the near future, with the outgoing Jason Langmead thankful for his time at the helm: “I have really enjoyed my time in role and seeing the pace of the development of the group has been a thing to behold.”

“It has been a privilege and a pleasure to lead the group for two years and I know that we are in good shape and that the appointment of David and Jamie will add real strength to the group – they do not need it but I will say good luck any way!” he added.

Elsewhere at the AGM, Lunt explained how providing access to brands, stock and fair prices for its members is the focus for the coming months. “We will continue to grow our membership where the benefits are mutual and built around trust and work closer in collaboration with supplier partners to make this happen. Our central warehousing and logistics facility – NDN – will help to facilitate this and we truly believe that this is a benefit to both members and suppliers.

He added how the buying group needs to help members support brands through their own businesses and to do this it is launching a Web-2-Print service which will be a free to members.
