More than half of the applications for JJ Foodservice’s recent branch manager vacancies at Leeds and Sidcup were from females.

The statistics from the roles advertised were a first for the business, explained chief operating officer Mushtaque Ahmed: “Despite not making the final cut, having 50% female applicants shows that we are on the right tracks to developing a good level of diversity in our pipeline.”

“Traditionally, it has always been men that have applied for these roles. But our investment in training and initiatives like our ‘Warehouse Women’ recruitment campaign have helped to attract more females to the business and give existing female workers more confidence,” he added.
