Confex has welcomed two new members to the buying group in the form of Brook Street Foodservice & grocery wholesaler Mayfair Export.

These recruitments form part of a continued and targeted campaign to gain more members through a board-approved strategic move to ensure a full geographical spread of wholesalers across both retail and foodservice.

Confex managing director Tom Gittins says: “We are so pleased to welcome Brook Street Foodservice and Mayfair Wines to become part of the Confex growth story. These two very progressive wholesalers are completely in tune with our aims and we look forward to working with these businesses to develop and grow. Brook Street have agreed to join our Own Brand committee and I am sure they will provide invaluable advice in the development of our Core own brand, which we see as driving substantial growth in 2021.”

Confex to launch own-brand range next year

Brook Street Foodservice managing director Mark Thomas adds: “We are very excited to be joining Confex. I feel inspired by the plans that Tom and his team have put in place and look forward to being part of the future growth of Confex. I would encourage other progressive wholesalers to check out the Confex offering as with the addition of the Core own brand range they have all the building blocks in place for their members to thrive post-Covid.”
