Palmer & Harvey reveal long life sushi range

When you think ‘sushi’ it conjures up the image of a Japanese restaurant serving delicate fish, rice and vegetable dishes. But now Palmer & Harvey’s latest chilled product means independent retailers can offer the food too.

The wholesaler’s ‘long life’ sushi can spend five days on the shelf before it needs to be thrown away. With fish and vegetarian options both price-marked at £1, it could be an attractive on-the-go proposition for shoppers looking for a healthier alternative to pies and chocolates.

Retailers can purchase the packs in an outer of six for £4.80, which offer retailers a POR of 20 per cent.

Rory Brick, head of symbol at Palmer & Harvey, said: “In the UK sushi is currently seeing year-on-year growth of 25 per cent so it’s a good time for the independent sector to get a piece of the action. This sushi tastes great, is priced at £1 and with its longer shelf life will help our customers to grow basket size and spend.”
