A business selling food and drink which has gone past its best-before date continues to grow, after opening its third UK site.
Customers from across the region reportedly queued for more than an hour to get into Rogers Wholesale Foods in Plymouth, Devon, which has opened to the general public on the site of an old Hovis bread factory.
The opening of this latest branch comes on the back of success enjoyed by Rogers in Poole, Dorset, and Southampton, Hampshire, with the firm selling products including biscuits, cooking sauces, drinks, crisps, confectionery and pasta.
Shopper Mark Gerry told the Plymouth Herald: “It is brilliant – complete value for money, especially if you have got a family. We have already bought a car-load, and have come back in for more. We got a big box of the enchilada kits which would cost me around £3 a box in a supermarket, but I got 10 boxes for £4 here. There are massive bargains. I am going to be coming back in the week.”
The move comes in a period where it was revealed by Better Wholesaling’s partner title RN that Blakemore Wholesale will reportedly be opening the doors of two of its north-east cash & carries to the general public.
